Your reputation at times is the most important thing you have going for you, especially when you are the new kid in town.
In Reputation we take a trip back to Regency era England. Not that distant from Bridgerton (love those books) and we meet Georgina, the new girl in the county. She has lived a dull and boring life and wants things to be different. At her very first party she meets the most popular girl in the county, Frances. Georgina and Frances bond over how dull the party is and become fast friends.
Once there friendship is cemented Georgina decides that being cool is more important than anything else. She wants to have the reputation of fitting in. But to do so she loses herself along the way. Frances and her friends aren’t very responsible and tend to do things unchaperoned, which is highly frowned on during that time period.
Activities ensue and in the end Georgina does some regrettable things as does Frances who just wants to save her reputation. This leaves Georgina to make a tough decision regarding her own reputation. In the end I believe she does the right thing even though it was the harder thing to do.
I have to admit the entire time I was reading this book I kept hearing the Taylor Swift’s Reputation.
But it turn’s out Lex Croucher made her own playlist for the book. I almost wish I had found this while I was reading the book instead of after, but it does take me right back into the book as I listen to is.
Since drinking was such a large part of the book for Georgina, Frances and their friend group; I give this book 4 glasses of wine.
