The above is not one of my favorite songs from my younger years, but clearly represents my time away from this blog. A lot has happened in my life since my last post, and that is part of the reason that I that it has been so long.

I have made it through another semester of grad school and maintained my 4.0 GPA (yay me). But this semester was the hardest to date, as about halfway through the semester my mom was diagnosed with cancer. When that happened the world stopped for a bit. Thankfully we caught it early and my mom is a fighter but it has been an adjustment.

I did start a book club with her though. Our first read was Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren. Christina Lauren are one of my favorite writing pairs and it was great to share their writing with her. My dad (who is not a reader) picked our next book, A Mystery of Mysteries: The Death and Life of Edgar Allan Poe by Mark Dawidziak. It is an interesting read but I’m struggling through it, but my dad is reading so I will struggle to see this.

Here is to hoping that the rest of 2024 goes a bit smoother and I get to post here more frequently.
