On a Night Like This Review

I have always loved Cinderella. Watching the Disney animated version as a child brought me so my joy, and it still does as an adult. I watch it whenever I need to be picked up or I’m not feeling well. It is my feel good movie. I own almost every version of Cinderella ever made, and have very strong opinions about certain versions (which I will save for a later date an time)

When I saw On a Night Like This on NetGalley I was immediately intrigued and hoped that I would be able to get a copy to review. I did and I was not disappointed. I loved every minute of t this book. The story was not a direct Cinderella story, but had enough of the core aspects to make it one. I personally loved how Fran had her transformation on more of a personal level rather than just the surface level. And the fact that her “prince charming”, Evan, was also working to make himself better, which is so rare in these stories. And Evan saw her for her, rather than the pretty version of after she was made up for the ball. I wish all stories had messages like this.

I’m off to add all of Lindsey Kelk’s work to my TBR list since I found this book so captivating.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
