Review of The Twisted Roads Home

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this book, but I liked it more than I thought I would. Any story that takes placed in the mountains is a flag for me. This story however was deeper than I thought it would be.

Branson and Emma’s story is an interesting one. City girl comes to the mountains to make a new life. In doing so she falls in love with the bad boy. Twist, bad boy has a younger brother that is more like his son. Then add on the baggage that comes with life stories and you have a quick read that draws you in.

Do I wish there was a bit more steam in this one, yes; but there is enough to get you through. The growth of the characters did make up for the lack of steam in my opinion. Branson learning to let people in and Emma getting over her family name hangups.

In the end I was just happy that it all ended well. I was afraid at points that it might not. But everyone got the ending that they deserved, be it happy or not.

I was able to review this as part of a book tour for Romance me with Books. To find out more about K. B. Barret you can visit her website or find her books on Amazon, Goodreads or Bookbub.
