So I have been an avid reader all of my life, but I don’t think I have ever taken the time to make a list of my favorite books so here we go.
Jane Eyre – This is a classic that I will always go back to. I believe it was Jane’s determination that always makes me come back to it. I mean it was even a driving story line on my favorite soap opera, Passions (and yes, I know that show was horrible, thankfully my taste in books is better than soap operas). Jane will always be an idol for me.
She’s Come Undone – This is the book that I read for a term paper in high school.. I liked to break the rules a bit (being at the same school for 13 years gives you that luxury), so when I told my English teacher sophomore year that I was having difficulty reading the book I had picked, he was fine with me picking a one that was not at all common. I was very glad for my choice, and it was a great story of coming of age. This is a dark horse that I recommend everyone read.
Big Friendship – The authors are the hosts of one of my favorite podcasts Call Your Girlfriend (listen if you already don’t). After listening to them for so many years and seeing them live, I was beyond excited when they decided to write a book about their friendship. It was great to get a deeper look at what it was like sustain their friendship from a distance. It gave me perspectives on my own long-distance besties.
The Wedding Date – Strong first book in a great series. When I first read this book, it brought me so much joy. I loved the idea of the premise and the main character reminded me a lot of myself when it came to how she approached dating and life. Reading this made me feel like I would find my happy ending.
Hey Ladies! – This one is not meant to be a great literary read, but it is an ACCURATE description of what it is like to be a bridesmaid in a wedding. I shared my copy with multiple friends who were getting married.
There are so many more books that I could have added to this list but I wanted to keep it short and sweet. I will probably do updates every once and a while with others that I love, but these have been at the top of my list for a while now. I’ve also added a page with some of my favortie books just by cover. Not all on that page have made this list.
