The Nature of Witches Review

Spooky season has never really been my thing, but when I read the synopsis for this book, I was intrigued. And I am glad I decided to read it. While this is technically a YA novel every adult should read it.

Clara is an Ever witch, which means her magic is strong during all seasons, and this is extremely rare. Clara’s magic has caused her great pain and she is afraid to use it fully. In some ways we are all a bit like Clara. There is something we are afraid of, so we shy away from it.

As Clara learns that she needs her magic to help save the non-witches (or shaders as the book refers to them as which I loved) and the world in general, she learns to love the gift that she was given by being the first Ever witch in a very long time. But she also learns how to love and trust herself.

In the end, Clara decides to write a book for future Ever witches so that they can learn to understand the magic that for so long held her back. Each chapter actually begins with a quote from the book that Clara is writing and I feel like that adds so much more to the story.

If you are looking for a spooky season read that isn’t all that spooky, but is heartwarming this is the read for you. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for me and this one.
